I'm experiencing an ongoing issue where OBS will cause my system to partially freeze (Discord stops working, Windows and other programs become unresponsive) and then everything will completely freeze. Naturally, I've troubleshooted a great deal so far:
Reinstalled Windows
Previous version of OBS
Replaced PSU
Replaced motherboard
Replaced RAM
Replaced capture card
Curiously I do not even need to be broadcasting or recording for the problem to occur, as simply having OBS open earlier tonight created the same freeze. Again, this is specific to OBS as I have not been able to replicate the freezing in any other circumstance.
It is possible that there may be something, somehow in my scene which is causing this. My only evidence for this is that I've created a new scene with just the basics (audio and video sources) and that seems to have eliminated the crashing, although I have not tested this comprehensively yet.
On the flip side, this problem started happening around the same time I swapped to a new build upgrading from an AMD Ryzen 1700X (X370) to an i7 6950X (x99). Could there be some kind of oddly-specific incompatibility that I'm unaware of? I ran 8 hours of Realbench without any stability issues so I find it unlikely that my CPU is defective, that said I'll be testing further to rule that out entirely.
ASUS Rampage V Edition 10
G.SKILL TridentZ Series 16GB F4-3200C14D-16GTZ
EVGA GTX 1060 SC
Samsung Evo 850 2TB
Elgato 4K Pro
Elgato HD60 Pro
Elgato Camlink
Elgato Streamdeck
RME Babyface Pro Interface
In any case, perhaps you guys have some ideas? Maybe something sticks out in my log file: https://hastebin.com/osokizogoc
