System Freezes and Audio Buzzes in Headphones When Recording Gameplay

My system freezes and the audio buzzes in my headphones when OBS is recording. When I try to press stop recording it just says "stopping recording" and I have to use task manager to stop it. It continues the freezing and buzzing a little while after I close it with either task manager or it complies. I have saved videos to this drive for a while now so this is new. I've changed the output to another drive and it stopped freezing and buzzing in my ears. Someone I know said it's the boot drive doing this but I'm not sure. I'm wondering if this is an issue with one of the drives or an OBS issue

Do you have a hard disk drive (HDD, ie old school spinning platter disk drives) or newer SSD (flash) drives?
With a slightly optimized Windows 10, I can Record at 3X my streaming bitrate to a SATA SSD this is also my boot drive with no issue. Doing so with a HDD may or may not be viable... depends on lots of other factors (and your specific background disk I/O workload/pattern)

If a HDD, and its old, they can start to fail, so first thing to do is a backup, just in case. then run a disk test program
