Question / Help Syphon Input

Just wondering if there was anyway to input from a syphon output, cause syphon is ALOT less laggy than what its using now for video input device.

I'm only vaguely familiar with Syphon, but from my minimal understanding, it's some sort of GPU-based frame sharing software?

Are you able to get your video input device to output to a Syphon server, and want to get the Syphon output from there?

What video device are you using that is so laggy with OBS? In what way is it laggy?

Yes, I can get CamTwist to output Syphon, and I think its laggy because its using the Quicktime Component, which is REALLY slow :P
 
Vote for syphon support it make wonders on osx its suported by alot vj softwares like vdmx resolume modul8 madmapper etc. posibilites are endless with it ;)
 
Syphon looks like the stuff that would greatly compliment capturing. We'll probably implement support or integrate it somehow if we can.
 
Also +1 for syphon. I cannot get wiretap or soundflower to work after countless hours of troubleshooting with soundflower quitting every time i attempt to set 2ch to built-in output.
