Question / Help Switching games not possible

Hello people

I sometimes stream different games, so I need to switch between them - in OBS studio however if I shut down one game, go to the next scene for the other game and start up the game, OBS studio never registers the new game.

I have separate scenes for each game, so it should just be a matter of switching scenes, right? I've tried changing the current scene's game capture, but with no luck - it simply doesn't detect the game.

Not before I reboot my PC and start up OBS again will it accept the new game.

Any advice would be great!

You should try to use a single game capture across all your scenes, and not duplicate them. It can cause issues, and you don't need a new game capture source for each game. Use Add Existing whenever possible.

Try the hotkey capture method if you switch games often. I use this personally, and it works very well. Just change the mode of the game capture source to use hotkey, and then set your capture hotkey in Settings -> Hotkeys for the source.

Then it's just a matter of launching the game, and pressing the hotkey when it has focus. Try it out and see how it works!
