Switch fader

Is there any way til activate the "switch fader" by MIDI? It is the fader that show up in studio mode.
I have an old EDIROL V-8 videomixer with midi out, and it would be cool to be able to select the next scene by the buttons, and then use the handle on the mixer to do the transition. This way, it would be possible to blend the 2 scenes (NDI cameras).
I can control the switching, by assigning a button to each scene, but the other option would be much better :-)

Just to be clear, you mean this, right?:

I've thought about that too - to get a physical T-handle for it - but never as serious as you seem to be.

Unfortunately, I don't actually have an answer, just clarifying.
