Suggestion: Output Microphone Separately

I do a lot of game recording and let's plays. It'd be nice to be able to save the stream locally with the audio from my microphone and the desktop audio separate. This would allow me to use the game footage for a later review.

Otherwise, superb software. I can't believe this is free.

I believe this is planned for the OBS Studio rewrite, but most likely will not make it into OBS1.

it'll be possible to save audio to a separate file, though I don't know if I'm going to enjoy having to program that. It definitely won't be in right away though.

What I'm suggesting is a bit more complex than that.

As I understand it, the audio from the microphone and the desktop are coalesced then pushed out as part of the stream (or local recording). What I'm suggesting is that the audio from the desktop and the video could be saved to the local recording without the audio from the microphone. This would help with game reviews since I often have to either eliminate the audio all together or go back over the spot I just played to get gameplay without my voiceover from the stream.

I don't expect that this is a simple task, but probably very complex to add.

Ehm, so you simply mean seperate audio tracks?
I think this has also been requested quite a few times. Jim might correct me of course, but I think this will be possible as well and maybe even easier than the output to a seperate file?!

The audio from the Mic and Desktop are mixed at one point, but it should be fairly easy to save the Mic audio separately, and record the Desktop Audio inside the video file.

I am currently trying to make the Mic audio be save to a Wav, but as i am no programmer, it probably won't happen, i can save the mic buffer as a .wav and append to it, however the duration is fixed at 2ms making it useless.
