[Suggestion] Choose Audio Device for Sound

Hi,

it would be nice to choose the Audio Device for sound.
Why?

If you want to Stream without transfering Voicechat like Ventrilo/Teamspeak etc. you can do this by using Virtual Audio Cable as microfon device and mute default sound. The downside to this is you can't seperately control your mic anymore. So all the nice features for micsound are gone. If you make it possible to choose the device for sound instead of using the default one we can do this again by using the "Streaming Virtual Audio Cable" and the microfon as before!

Would be a nice seperation and allowing for advanced setups!

Congratz on the great Program so faar.

Bumping this request. You can choose mic input device, but not your default audio device.

I too would like this feature to use in combination with VAC.

Don't assume I want to always use Windows sound as my default.

That's great! I'm not sure what that update entails, but if I could kill off VAC completely by stacking/adding 2 audio sources (and then 3rd source as mic on top of that) that would be awesome.

Would also love secondary push-to-talk key for mic.

This is planned as part of the update that adds audio sources.

Wow, is there a rough time frame when this feature might be available?

How will the audio sources work? Can we choose the source on a per-application-base? I am searching for ages for a practical solution to stream game sound (application that doesn't let you choose the audio device) without any other sounds currently running on my PC.

That will depend entirely on such an audio source being written. At first, there will only be two types of audio sources, audio input/output devices (the same as the ones you see in the Windows "Playback/Recording Devices" control panel), and A/V capture devices like video capture cards that also capture audio.
