The Desire: I want to switch between having my preview on/off on second monitor without alt-tabbing out of game.
The Reason: I like to check out how my scene is looking during livestream. I stream at 720p and record at 1080p, which is hard on my cpu, so I think having preview off most of time saves some processing power.
