Question / Help Sudden Fps skips/lags after having no issues for months

I've been recording at 60fps (overwatch) for months now but recently all i get are freeze frames for the entirety of my recordings while in-game fps has been the same. I tried 30fps which doesnt freeze as much but there are still noticeable drops. This just suddenly happened one day even though i havent changed any settings and the only changes to hardware are just driver updates. I know i dont have the best hardware but i don't think the recordings would suddenly drop from recording 60fps with little issues to barely being able to record 30

Logs are showing that your GPU isn't keeping up with the encoding settings. Are you sure you didn't change anything?

You're probably best off switching from High Quality to Default for the quality setting. It makes very little visual difference (if at all... 1st gen Nvenc isn't that great there), and makes a significant difference in usage on the encoder's part. That should get you below the threshold for 900p60 encoding.

The rest of your issues comes from rendering lag. You had a considerable amount of render lag for the 60fps attempts, but it that could be an instance where the encoding caused extra issues... or it could just be that it's not keeping up with the tighter frame timings. First step is to get the encoder within the card's limits and get another recording log.

i tried multiple different settings but I started changing them after i had my problems before that i just primarily used the simple "high quality medium file size option with little problems
