Question / Help Stuttering Stream

Hi guys,

I've been using OBS for quite some time but never used it on a way I could be using it. Using way too low quality for the streams than I can handle (480P @30FPS)

So I thought, let's hit my PC's and Internet potential properly for once. Let's go 1080P! And well it actually all works out according to OBS, no internet loss, no frame drops and the games run smooth. Yet when I look on twitch the stream will show still frames for maybe 1 or 2 seconds every now and then. Not sure this is just because I am watching or not.

For all the details here's my setup from everything!

PC specs
- CPU: Intel I7-4770K @4,4Ghz
- CPU Cooling: CM Hyper Evo 212
- GPU: EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX
- Motherboard: Asus ROG Maximus IV Hero
- RAM: Kingston HyperX 1600Mhz 16GB
- HDD: 1TB @ 7200RPM
- HDD: 1TB @ 7200RPM
- HDD: 2TB @ 7200RPM
- SSD: Samsung 128 GB 840 EVO
- SSD: Samsung 250 GB 840
- Case: Enermax Fulmo GT

Internet:

*Note I was online in a BF4 server and listening to a Radio stream.

OBS Settings:

Recommended :P

Max bit: 3500
Max Buffer: 3500
Res: 1920x1080
FPS: 30

And well just the recommended twitch settings.

So anyone a suggestion? Battlefield 4 stays above 100FPS during stream and I use LAN, internet is stable at all time.

I don't see any issues with the most recent stream in that log file. It's possible that this is a playback issue instead of a stream issue. Can you check a local recording of the stream to see if it exhibits the same type of problem? Use the "Save to File" option under Settings > Broadcast Settings in OBS.

I've been having the same issues lately on my stream, which I haven't really had before, so I'm pretty sure that it's on their end. Twitch's that is.

Correct, you're probably having trouble consistently getting 3500 Kbps down from them to watch the video. Lots of people have trouble watching streams at such a high bitrate (that's the max that Twitch officially supports) so you might consider lowering it to something like 2500-3000 and downscaling to 720p or 864p. Given your CPU speed, at those lower stream resolutions you would probably be able to use the faster or fast presets for better compression as well.

As a quick note, using presets like faster and fast require your CPU to do more work for the improved video quality you get. While your CPU is definitely powerful, especially with the overclock, don't hesitate to put the preset back to veryfast if you experience any performance issues.

Ran it on Fast and did a test for 5 min solid on 64 player BF4. Ran smooth and looking good. No issues, no real heavy load on it and no fps drops or whatever found. So this should be working :)
