Stuttering and laggy image quality when i stream in 60 fps my game at 120+ fps

Morning, everybody!

I have a problem that I can't solve on my own when I stream.

The problem is that the stream is not "fluid". I have tears in the image at times and very slight "bumps" in the image.

Putting the game in 60 fps improves a little bit these "a coups" but they are always present.

Here is my configuration:

Streaming configuration:
ryzen i5 3600
MSI B450 Thomahawks MAX
16GB DDR4 3600 C16
SSD Crucial MX500
GTX 1650 Super
Elgato 4K60 Pro mk2 (pci-e 2.0 at 4x)
Windows 10 Pro 2004

Gaming configuration:

ryzen 9 3900x
Gigabyte X570 Aorus Master
16GB DDR4 3600 C16
SSD Crucial MX500
RTX 2080 Super
Windows 10 Pro 2004

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you very much. Thank you very much.

Screen tearing is always going to be a result of not using vsync on your gaming computer. The framerate issues are not supposed to happen though.

Just to test -- if you set your gaming PC's monitor to 60hz, with your game vsync locked at 60fps, and your 4k60 set to 60fps for the capture framerate, do you still have the framerate hitching? Also, are you using VLC for video playback?

thank you @carlmmi for your time and your response,

indeed the effect of image tearing disappears when the v-sync is engaged but the problem of frame rate is always present whatever the setting I can do on the refresh rate of my screen. I have of course tested to put the whole in 60hz and the problem of frame rate is always present.

Note that randomly when I modify my screen at 60hz I don't have any more problem of frame rate for a few seconds when I apply the modification...

I can still accept to use the V-Sync instead of my adaptive sync.

on the other hand playing in 60hz when this acquisition card was bought specifically for the passthrough in 1440p144 is not possible for me. this is a sine qua non condition!

Framerate issue:

here I have performed several tests of recording:

1080p60 recorded at 1080p60.
1080p120 recorded at 1080p60
1080p144 recorded at 1080p60
1440p60 recorded at 1080p60
1440p144 recorded at 1080p60
1440p60 recorded at 1440p60
1440p144 recorded at 1440p60

anything above 1080p60 recorded at 1080p60 has a frame rate problem that is felt even in the passthrough

If you're having an issue with framerate in passthrough, then that means the issue is either with your gaming PC or the capture card itself. OBS has no part of this.
