Studiomodus: preview and program - no difference

Hi,

When i install OBS there is a difference between the Preview- and Program-screen in Studio modus. This is how it should be.
After i close the program and start it back up, the preview and programscreen are the same. Every change I make in my preview is live on the programscreen.
How can I switch this back?

i would like to see a preview before it goes live.
I appreciate the help! Thanx
 
excuse, found what i did wrong/didn't understand.
A slideshow is always live. There is no function to preview the next slide (like there is in programs like powerpoint)
 
You're correct. The preview and program screen are for managing the scene and source layout of OBS. Positioning, size and visibility of sources. They are not buffering or managing the content that is displayed within a source. The content of a source is always live.

OBS has no connection to what is being captured. It doesn't know that there is a slide to advance. It just captures a window and displays what is contained in it. If that window changes, it displays the changed content. Why it changes, and that it is a Powerpoint slide that was advanced isn't known to OBS.
