Every time I've tried to use obs the past few days, I've had this very bizarre thing happen, both with Twitch and YouTube.
Sometimes they just never detect that obs is set to now streaming, other times the stream will start up and work normally for a few minutes before abruptly ending.
In either case, once I try to click "stop stream" it will stay frozen trying to stop it forever until I end the process with task manager. Additionally, when it's in this state, OBS is stuck using ridiculous amounts of CPU and GPU which isn't normal.
Let me go over the things I've tried to fix it:
- I tried updating my GPU drivers, they said they were already up to date.
- I tried updating windows, the problem still persisted with no change afterwards.
- I tried setting OBS to record with my CPU instead of GPU, and that made 0 difference. Even if it did make a difference, the performance decrease would render streaming certain games impossible.
- I even uninstalled and reinstalled OBS which did absolutely nothing.
I remember doing a bios update for my motherboard a few weeks back, but I was streaming with no issue after that until just a few days ago. I don't recall doing anything significant with my computer since that bios update, besides maybe some regular Windows updates. Also the BIOS was the latest stable version and not a beta version.
I'm really not good with this stuff, and only know as much as I do because me and my brother built the PC that I use (mostly my brother). I have no idea what's going on and this seems to be a very strange unusual issue. I really hope someone can help because I really want to get back to streaming.
-My cpu is an AMD Ryzen 3 1200
-My graphics card is a MSI Radeon RX 560
-My motherboard is MSI B350
Also I use a direct ethernet connection, and there's no reason for it to suddenly be having issues consistently every time after a few days ago so it's not my internet connection.
I really hope this is enough information for someone to be able to help...
