Question / Help Streaming Xbox One/PS4 Chat through Controller (Hauppauge PVR-2 Gaming Edition)

Hey Everyone,

Thank you for coming over to my thread as I have a question for streaming with the Hauppauge PVR-2 Gaming Edition. The in-line port at the back of the device doesn't pick up any of the audio through it. I have a headphone Y-Cord with mic attached to my controller, one side going to my headset and the other going to the back of the device. On the computer I am using the OBS Studio, but I have the Hauppauge Streaming Software installed as well.

Question 1) Do any of you know how I can get the in-line audio to work and record just the party chat through the device and come through OBS?

Question 2) Is there a way I can hook a USB Headphone Jack w/Mic to the PC and have the splitter attached to the controller one side going to my headset and the other going to the USB Headphone jack. Is there a setting or software that will "listen" to that USB headphone jack so I can enable it on OBS?

Note: I am trying to steer away from having the party chat coming through the TV because it's hard to understand what my friends are saying and hear the game audio. So it's better to have the headset have the party audio and the TV have the game audio.

If anyone has any other ideas or easier methods please let me know.

Thanks,

Ifinx

Elgato sells a cord to do this. The jack on the controller is a combo headphone and mic jack, so unless your splitter cable is designed for that, it could be picking up the wrong pins.
Can't help on the HDPVR though, they're absolute junk.

I'd recommend grabbing the Elgato cord (since it's designed for controller/multipole sources) and plugging the other end into your motherboard mic or line in (not sure which their cord uses as far as line levels; should come with instructions), and set that up as an additional audio in source. On Classic you can do that with the Directshow audio source plugin, and if you're using Studio (for its HDPVR nonstandard support) you should be able to add it natively.
