Bug Report Streaming with win8..

Hey guys .. so briefly said im having some strange in-game lag ( it's like fps lag but the fps isnt going below 100 .. , no dropped frames whatsoever in the stream etc ) and im 99.9% sure that is bcuz u cant turn off win8 aero theme .. so my question is is it possible to come up with a solution for win8 for this great program. Ty in advance :shock:

Windows 8 Monitor capture is a beast compared to Windows 7 and shouldnt really care about Aero.

Oh lol , just realized that i've been streaming only with "Game Capture" haha , just tried what u've told me and its indeed amazing results ! Thank u :)

What is Windows 8 Monitor capture? I too am using Windows 8. Is that just another name for Screen Capture in OBS?

It's nothing to be confused with, it just indicates that you can use software capture on Windows 8 without any issues unlike before this feature was introduced due to a change in the Desktop Window Manager if I'm not mistaken. So in short, it is the screen region we're all familiar with, just improved to be used on Windows 8.

Ah ok, your GPU is quite old/weak, that's why game capture isn't great with it.

Ah ok, your GPU is quite old/weak, that's why game capture isn't great with it.

I'm not sure if that's the case bcuz on win7 I'm streaming just fine with aero turned off :P Was just wondering what's the problem with Game Capture since Software Capture is quite ok.Thx anyway :)

Game Capture uses the GPU pretty heavily, so if your GPU is old/not very powerful (like a 9600GT), then game capture will not give you great performance.
