Question / Help Streaming with lower upload

I've recently moved back to University and currently share a flat with 5 other people. I used to stream at home with about 10 upload but sadly here you can't get above 1.

I want to see if it would be possible to stream League of Legends while I'm at University, I know my upload is very low but I just wondered what I would have to have my settings as, and how low the stream quality would actually be. I use a webcam and a microphone, I also play music but I don't have to play music if that will make a large impact.

This is my current speed:

I live in a tiny town with no fibre optic so it's pretty poor. My upload tends to range mostly between 0.5 and 0.8, but it's currently around 6pm on a Saturday so most people are using it. I would stream at times that people are not on and have a better connection.

If there's any other specs you need I can let you know.

Well its possible but your options are limited... Most likely u could be streaming 480p but the image quality will be very bad aswell...

Hi Laura, I'm stuck with low upload as well, I can get about 0.9 mbit/s upload on most days. Luckily I have a pretty beefy CPU (an overclocked 3rd gen i7) so I can get slightly better quality using a slower CPU preset, but it only helps a little bit. The settings I use are:

Resolution: 852x480 (downscaled from 1280x720)
Video bitrate: 720 kbps
Buffer size: 427 kbits
FPS: 30
Audio bitrate: AAC 160 kbps
CPU preset (Advanced) : Slow (improves image quality slightly at the cost of CPU usage)

My stream is watchable with these settings, but it is a bit blurry, particularly during high action scenes. You can still tell what's going on though, and it's a lot sharper during less hectic scenes.

You can see what it looks like here: http://www.twitch.tv/xephstream/b/584004093

That's about what you can expect from your stream, but you might have to lower your bitrate even further if you are between 0.5 - 0.8 upload. The OBS site's estimator tool recommends a 595 max bitrate for a ~0.7 connection.
