I'm having trouble finding the proper resolution out put to stream with my hauppauge hd pvr 2 device into obs any ideas?

The only way to use a Hauppague with the current version on OBS is to capture the preview of a program that is compatible with the device aka hauppague capture or the program that came with your pvr. You can do this with window capture (using sub-region if necessary ) or you can fullscreen the preview and use monitor capture (this will work fine with windows 8, but try to avoid it on windows 7)
