Okay so before I start to write down my problem I would like to say that:
+ My problem is not about OBS, it's about Avermedia LGP LITE
+ I might do some grammar mistake just ignore them
So I have 2 laptop:
Streaming Laptop: 2016 Macbook Pro 15-inch with Touchbar
Gaming Laptop: Asus Rog G751JY DB72
Capture Card: Avermedia LGP LITE
I just received this capture card and I was so excited. I ordered it because I do stream with laptop and the fps drop problem was so annoying for me and I wanted to use my macbook as a streaming laptop.
Everything was so good until I plugged the capture card to macbook. I downloaded the Avermedia RECentral software for Mac. Then I realized many many problem. So the only way to capture the gaming laptop's window is using SYPHON in OBS Studio. To use the Syphon I have to open RECentral and receive the window of the gaming latop. But most of the time I can't. So I don't know if you use the RECentreal for mac before but you can either record, stream, or take photos.
It is so complicated... So when you don't click anything in RECentral it shows the preview screen which is your gaming laptop's screen however MOST of the time I get black screen instead of the actual screen. However, when I click record on LGP LITE the blue lighting turning red then start recording but still black screen on preview screen. After recording, I checked the folder which contains the record videos because I wanted to check if it's working or not. Then I realized the video that I record was not black screen as same as in the preview screen but it was the actual footage. So I know the card is working fine. However I need the preview screen working to stream in OBS with Syphon.
Another issue sometimes I do get the preview screen working fine but whenever I open anything but FULL-SCREEN such as youtube videos or the game I play (Dota 2) in my gaming laptop then there is an error appear in RECentreal saying NO SIGNAL FOUND please check your cables bla bla.... The same error also appear whenever I change the PLAYBACK source in my gaming laptop. btw I use voicemeeter to get sound from my headset and also to send sound to the LGP LITE but I'm sure the problem is not because of that because I tried to use it without it.
So I know there might be nothing to do with this capture card since the last update for RECentral for MAC released in 2014. But I need anything any advice or help or suggestion. You might tell me to send this card back and buy this stuff or instead of using RECentral do this or smthng PLEASE GUYS I NEED HELP
