Bug Report Streaming SWTOR

Hey guys!

I'm having this weird problem while streaming SWTOR, have searched around the interwebz but can't seem to find the problem.

So all other games that I stream I stream at 720p, 60fps. I've got a 100/100mbit line of fiber and a decently decked out computer (i5 2500k @ 4.4ghz + gtx560ti card with 16gb vengeance RAM). I usually stream at 4000/4000. They are all working flawlessly with no fps drops at all. Games I play are Diablo III, Final Fantasy, World of Warcraft etc. All working like they should.

However, in SWTOR, it's unbearable. I tried the above settings initially, no go. And now I'm down to downscaling and have set the quality to 6. The same problem persists, namely MASSIVE FPS drops on the stream. Not in-game, but on the stream. It basically shows 1-2 fps occasionally.

Now, how do I counter this? Here's a vod of my stream, just fooling around testing the game: http://www.twitch.tv/silvygaming/b/371678455

Fast forward to 2 minutes and you'll see my problem. This doesn't happen in any other game that I stream. What's the story?

Also, why can I not choose Game Capture for this game? :)

The game is most likely causing too much load on your GPU (video card). Since OBS renders the scene on your GPU, it needs games to leave a bit left over so it has something to work with. If you can, limit your FPS in the game to 60, if needed try lowering your ingame video settings.

I seem to recall someone else having trouble using game capture with this game as well, it seems like it's some kind of protection against bots, so they can't read the framebuffer for info? Something like that. However, you can use software capture->window capture and get pretty much the same (or sometimes better) performance than game capture, as long as you either A) have Aero on in Windows 7/Vista or B) you're using Windows 8.

Will indeed try lowering settings. Shouldn't high GPU loads force poor fps in-game as well though?

Trying medium settings for graphics with V-sync on so capped at 60~. Also running this game with 30 fps in the stream to see if it works out better. Will update

The same happens with most MMORPG games, like GW2 and TERA. You HAVE to lower the graphic settings on those games when streaming, if you dont have the absolute latest card or processor :P I noticed that the hard way, almost overloaded my cpu when i did that.
