Question / Help Streaming - stream gets choppy at times

Hey,

So I should point out that the games I'm playing run perfectly fine at 60+ FPS for me. Most games that I stream don't cause any lagg for the viewers with the exception of one: Assassin's creed Origins (once again, on my side it perfectly fine but not on the streams). This made me wonder if it's the game itself not being stream-friendly or if my OBS-settings are wrong.

My specs: 1070 GTX, I7-6700K, 16 GB RAM

Settings:

Encoder: x264
Rescale output: 1280x720
Rate control: CBR
Bitrate: 3500
Keyframe interval: 2
CPU usage preset: Veryfast
Profile: high
---
Base resolution: 1080p
Output resolution: 720p
Downscale filter: Bicubic
Common FPS values: 60
---
Process priority: Above normal
Yuv color range: Partial
Yuv color space: 709

I'm using Restream.

What could be the issue? Are my specs old now? That would suck lol. Also, are those even the settings I should be using? I want to stream 1080 if my specs would allow that, but you guys know this better than me so help!

NOTE: It's only during after the end of a cutscene and during combat where people in chat complain about the stream being choppy.

I do streaming and recording for YouTube, so I was trying to record Origins. I had just finished a session on Wolfenstein II running perfectly, at constant 60 fps and then updated the my drivers for Origins since I only just then noticed that new ones were available. So I tried recording it the same way and I would receive the "encoder is overloaded" message at the bottom of the OBS window while the game was running really well at 50-60 fps. The video was really laggy at certain points. I don't know if this is the same problem you are dealing with although it does happen after cutscenes and in fights like you.

So after some troubleshooting I decided to roll back the drivers since that's a major change I did in between games and viola, OBS works perfectly but Origins runs from 30-60, which is really inconsistent. Again, I don't know if this is the same issue you are having or if that is the cause, but it is worth a shot.

So, I also had this problem, but it started after the recent update of OBS.

The first 20 hours of streaming Origins I had no issues with. After I updated OBS however it started getting choppy and the encoder was overloaded with the current settings:

Spec: Titan X Black (Pascal), i7-6800k, 16gb RAM)

OBS:
Encoder: x264
Rescale output: 1280x720
Rate control: CBR
Bitrate: 3750
Keyframe interval: 2
CPU usage preset: Faster
Profile: main
---
Base resolution: 1080p
Output resolution: 720p
Downscale filter: Lanczos
Common FPS values: 60

So, I don't understand why I could stream for 20 good hours with no issues what so ever, and then one day the encoder went bananas. Had to drop to Veryfast and even there I had encoding issues.
