Question / Help Streaming settings

Hello I am new to streaming so i really don't know what settings i will be able
to stream comfortably at with no fps drop on stream, i want it to be watchable. If anyone
could take a look at my specs and perhaps tell me some good settings for OBS i will be forever
in your debt. Thank you

Computer specs:

OS: Windows 7
Processor: AMD FX(tm)-4170 quadcore 4.20GHz
RAM: 8GB
Hard drive: 2TB
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6670

Have you tried out what the Estimator suggests? Your speed should be able to support 720p streaming wonderfully.

Thanks Faranae for your quick reply, i've just tried OBS with the recommended settings the estimator came up with and sadly i still drop in frames on the stream, ingame FPS is fine it's just on video and i really don't know what the problem is.

I'm curious as to how all of this works. Because with my upload speed of only 3mbps, the estimator recommends that I stream at 480p & 30fps. Yet I steam at 864p & 60fps and never drop frames. Or at least haven't dropped any yet in all of my tests.

The estimator is meant to be a starting point, nothing more. To really get the optimal settings for YOUR PC and YOUR internet connection requires lots of testing and experimenting.
