Question / Help Streaming Sat

Good day,

I was scouring the web for an application to stream a signal received from a satellite(ie sat tv) across a LAN, to be received and displayed on a clients pc via a media manager which offers options like playing dvd, mp3/4 audio or streaming tv?

Is this possible with OBS?

It depends on how you are receiving the TV signal, and if the client's PC can receive RTMP streams. If you are capturing the TV signal with something that can turn the video into a directshow source (perhaps by using a capture card), then yes, you can stream out the TV signal.

You would have to set up your own RTMP server, most likely, and then have the client program point at the RTMP url. If the client program can't open an RTMP stream, then nevermind.
