Question / Help Streaming remote audio video

is it possible to add a video / audio source from another PC that is not on the same LAN or to relay a live stream from the internet. i.e. to add someone elses live stream as both an audio and video source within a scene. .. im thinking relaying a stream may be easier to achieve than getting remote access to their audio / video hardware.

to try and clarify this: I'd like to be able to have multiple livestreams from different sources around the world to be centralized into one live stream where each of the various streams can be switched to.. think of a TV station that has its local studio, then it wants to swich to a live reporter, or a regional / interstate studio for its feed. they dont need to interact with each other so latency is not an issue.

There is no log file attached as this is not a bug issue.
thanks in advance for any input.

This is what the browser source is for.

If the source is another kind of video stream, you can open that source in VLC and use the VLC source (RTSP streams, for instance).

@Narcogen - would you mind expanding on how to receive remove feed via VLC or link to tutorial. I'm searching VLC community but not find a clear answer as like @beyondhelp I'd like to bring a couple of remove feeds from different cities into OBS. I appreciate your help with this!

How you need to do that in OBS is specific to what those feeds are. But generally, any stream that VLC can open, you can open by using the "open network" dialog and then entering the URL. What the URL is depends on what kind of stream is being sent, and what the public address of the computer sending the stream is.

Hi,

I am also interested in this as well. I am helping various organisations with live streams to YouTube and want to use OBS on a central server to be able to grab various streams and put them together and then send them out through YouTube.

The question is how to get the best audio/video streams from these different places into OBS.

Has anyone found a good resource for stream management and OBS?
