Question / Help Streaming PC build

Hello, first off all, i planning to build a streaming PC directly for OBS...

so my image of that streaming PC:

PCIe HDMI input card video grabber.
LOWEST COST
could be form factor
and i want stream 1080p @50/60p video to youtube...
the parts to be the most compatible off course...

I have opportunity to buy for 80£ a PC with 4GB DDR2 and amd athlon 2 X4 620. If i will buy a cheap GPU for that, it (the streaming) will work ?? Or should I buy a new components and put them together ???

The source will be my DSLR NIKON D5300 or other HDMI capable camera,

I dont know what is minimum or recommended requirements for OBS to stream 1080p @50/60p to youtube... the internet will be some 15 Mbps...

If you want 1080@60, even a Haswell i5 isn't going to even come close to cutting it, much less a low-midrange AMD CPU from six years ago. Real-time video encoding is a VERY computationally heavy task.

Also, the nVidia GTX 200-series (specifically) is known for having a VRAM issue that leads to extremely poor performance. I had to upgrade as my GTX260 was causing massive frame dupes and lates, even at 720p@30.

Also, an Avermedia C127 cannot capture at 1080p@60. It can accept a 1080@60 input, but it only captures at 1080@30fps maximum.


Streaming 1080@60 is not cheap at present. You cannot get away with poor, old, budget parts. You get what you pay for.

OK so streaming 1080p @30p i think will be enough.... so that xeon setup could do the job ?? with that 295 GTX...

I originally wanted a laptop to do the job, but how i get the picture from HDMI to laptop.. and i think a laptop will be more expensive solution...

I do not believe dual E5450s will be able to do 1080@60. They might be able to handle 1080@30, but that depends entirely on the SMP interconnect load.


A laptop is not a good choice for several reasons, and is much more expensive. You can use a USB 3.0 capture device though, like the XCAPTURE-1.

EE laptop.. on that site http://www.bargainhardware.co.uk you can configure a workstation HP Z600 with 2x 2.66 GHz hex-core Xeon X5650 + 8 GB RAM + 1TB HDD for 333 which is a bargain for that performance... and with that avermedia HDMI grabber, and some cheap budget GPU, I will be able to stream fullHD video at least in 30p if not 50p... up to 500£ together with everything...

So... what is system requirements (CPU, RAM, GPU) for streaming FULL HD 1080p @30p for OBS ??? Is there some graph or table where you can find resolutions bitrate, and PC configuration to stream them flawlessly ???

Avermedia c127 can just record 1080p30fps. If you want stream record in 1080p60fps you need the avermedia extreme or elgato hd60pro if you want the capturecard in your pc and a good cpu for this quality is still the i7 4790k from intel but even this processor has problems if you record /use with a webcam in the same time. 50fps 1080p is more or less maximum settings with cpu preset very high if you want stream.
