Question / Help Streaming high quality by using a cloud computer?

Dear all,

I would like to stream in higher quality but my current CPU is not good enough. I was wondering whether it is possible instead of buying new hardware to rent cloud computing CPU capacity.

My setting would be as follows:
- OBS installed on the cloud computer
- DSLR Cam is connected to my local computer (Can I connect the local video source to my OBS running on the cloud computer?)

Does anyone have experience with running OBS on the Cloud and using local video sources? How is the latency? Does it relieve my CPU?

I would really appreciate your help

Best regards

This will not work, because cloud computers usually don't have a physical GPU, which OBS requires. In addition, it's not possible to redirect a local video source to a cloud computer. This needs the same resources as if you run OBS locally in the first place.

This would actually be pretty easy to set up, you would still need OBS running locally but you could run it with a high bandwidth preset with little CPU usage (or using a hardware encoder) then just use a restreaming service (or roll your own) that supports your desired bandwidth. Thing is you would need a very high upload bandwidth internet connection.
