Question / Help Streaming Gimp Black screen?

Hey guys so I've never really done this before and I want to stream drawing on twitch using gimp. However gimp just shows up as a black screen. I've looked around the interwebz and I can't really find a fix for this. Does anyone know how I can get it to work? Thank so much!

From what other have told me, gimp needs window capture or monitor capture. Not that if you have windows 8 or 10, that should be alright, but windows 7 will cause the monitor capture to lag out.

I have windows 8.1 and it works fine on monitor capture I was just hoping to get it to work the other way to minimize the risk I might show things I don't want to.
