Question / Help Streaming Dark Souls 3, slow buffer, freezes, is my cpu really that slow??

Hello

I am trying to stream on twitch Dark Souls 3, can not manage to get it at good smooth stream, I dont really understand why I have these problems, I have read of course available threads and checked various ways, still no good.

Spec
I5 4570 (not k)
gtx 670
I do have HD 60 Pro card
Internet is very good. 60 down solid 5 up for sure.
Streaming form amsterdam, checked servers and pings, all good, like 2 ms

So yeah at low settings, 720p60 just not working properly

So I can only think it could be that dark souls 3 needs that extra cpu but same time I did have at one point during testing that it went on flawlessly with 1080p60 and 720p60 ...:(

Msi afterburner does show as cpu usage around 95 when I start streaming

by accident 3 logs, also to say 1080p60 is not a must but I do see quite a few streamers now with 1080p60 smooth as anything so IF POSSIBLE I would like too

Streaming 1080@60 isn't going to happen on that CPU. Even 720@60 is a stretch. Most i5s tend to run out of gas much past 720p@30fps.

Even if you had a CPU capable of handling 1080@60, if you're streaming to Twitch you don't have the bitrate available to run 1080@60. It starts around 5000kbps (and wants 6000+), and it's recommended that non-partners not exceed 2000kbps.

If you want to run 1080@60, you'll need at least an i7-5820k. Preferably a standalone 2PC encoding rig. It's not cheap, and increases setup complexity by an order of magnitude.

You're also streaming over wifi from that log, which is a huge thing to never do under any circumstances.

So yes, you have a solid beginner-midrange casting system. 1080@60 is solidly high end, and will cost you a few thousand dollars minimum, AND require you to get Partnered with Twitch. And run a cable. But that should happen no matter what.

Do you think I can somehow get away with my current cpu for streaming dark souls 3??

You can try, but it's still not recommended for non-partners; 720@60 starts around 2700kbps, and you will have a lot of viewer buffering. The i5 likely won't be able to swing it on Veryfast if there is a reasonable amount of CPU load from the game without going to the Superfast preset, which will look significantly worse. It's a much better idea to just use 30fps; 60 isn't needed aside from for some retrogames that use sprite blitting for transparency. Otherwise, it's a nice-to-have that just wastes bitrate. You'd need to drop to a 480p downscale, which would probably work well for the i5 too.

Alright, last question then, any other cheaper recommendations for cpu than one you mentioned earlier?
