I recently started to stream for long periods of time on my xbox one with the elgato, past 2 times Iv gone longer then 3 hours I hit a spot on the stream that causes stuttering I know its just the elgato because my webcam video playback is smooth via OBS screen and stream.

Here's a link to a highlight of it playing smooth then stutters badly at 3:02:25
http://www.twitch.tv/sirlegit/c/5130774

Its never done this on PC gaming streams.
OBS Settings
Max Brate 1000 Same thing happened when I had it at 1800 just dropped frames.
Use CBR/CBR Padding
1.50 downscale 720p
30 FPS
High Priority Class
Fast x264 CPU Preset

System Specs
FX-8350
8 Gb RAM
GTX 770 2Gb
1TB harddrive

The elgato is saved as a global source.

I attached the log file from the stream, I'm also using the most current update for elgato which is 1.42.24

Hopefully this is what you needed.

Go in to advanced and set your 'Scene buffering time' to 700.

Is this going to stop the stuttering at 3 hours or something else you found in the log?

Also my sound ingame loses sync with video by half a second late.

Assume? Why didn't you test it? Yes, that should stop the stuttering.

Gotta wait till tomorrow to test for another 3 hour stream to see if that does anything. Also would this stop the desync of ingame audio?

I don't mean to assume but you didn't state what that would do. I also didn't get to 3 hours today had to end early.

If this fixed it great thanks I really appreciate it Ill find out tomorrow but now to the dsync audio problem it did happen today around 2 hours.

The reason why I didn't say anything is because I didn't read your replies until just now. It's quite alright though.

I understand you have a lot of post to go through and help others Ill let you know if I still have the stuttering, if you could possibly look into why the ingame audio desyncs from game video.

The Elgato and most USB type capture cards have a tendency to desync themselves over time. Good luck with fixing the desync though, there might be a way. But better support will have to be added later.

"Use buffering" in the properties of the elgato appears to be off. Turn it on (at 0) to ensure sync.

Okay I changed it to 0, I'm not sure if it will change the desync for the audio since it's under video buffering not audio the audio buffer is already at 0 but we shall see if this does it in a couple hours. Will post my testing.

UPDATE: I streamed past 3 hours and good news no stuttering and no audio desync looks like it has been solved. Hopefully permanently.

Yea, this is a known issue and you pretty much must enable "use buffering" for USB 2.0 devices. Glad you got it working.
