Hey all,

i am not a partnered streamer by any sort and i mainly do it for fun.
I stream CSGO/D3/BF4 plus many more.

Some games perform better than others. but i run into issue when streaming games that include (the Division, gtaV, and bf4)

It seems that my system maxes out the CPU. and i was thinking of upgrading but dont the best possible system.

my current setup
i5-4690k
16gb ram
GTX 980ti

I currently downscale the stream resolution from my 2k monitor to 720p. and then send it out.

i think that having a little beefier CPU might help out but wanted to get your guys opinion

i7-4790k?
i7-5830k?
a
I have an x99 mb that i can use but dont know for sure if it would be much better or worse.than the one i have.

what do you guys think?

We'd need a logfile to be able to tell. An i5 should be able to handle 720p@30fps without a problem, and 60fps is mostly a waste of bandwidth for non-partnered streams.

A 5820k is going to be way more than you'd need as a non-partner, but would let you run a very slow preset to make the most of your available bitrate (realistically 2000kbps at most). Make it look significantly better, while still working within the non-partnered limitations.

The Division, BF4 and GTA V are all extremely CPU-hungry (especially with BF4's notoriously bad optimization). You'll likely see significant improvement with these, going to a 5820k.
