Question / Help Stream Settings - Need help

First of all hey everyone.

I firstly tried Xsplit free version, the 480p. The quality was as stated, 480p, but it ran very smooth already on basic settings.

I decided to try OBS, since its free, to try get the 720p+.

As recommended, take it slow, so i started off with the exact same settings as Xsplit, 480p. And already then it was lagging.
Its not a freeze, it just seems like, it runs at 20-30fps on twitch - so very choppy to look at.

I have tried everything in the program - and followed 3 different guides - none have helped me. Maybe you guys can post some complete settings. Im streaming Diablo / Battlefield - so its FPS based games with alot of movement.

My specs:

Net 40/5mb
proc i7-2600
gfx GTX570
ram 12gb DDR3 1337mhz
windows 7 64bit

Tell me if you need more info.

Unknown bandwidth. So I'll just assume you'll start at 2Mbps.

Video: 1280x720, No Downscale, 30fps for now.
Advanced: Multithreaded Optimzation, Priority Class Above Normal, x264 CPU Preset "veryfast" (or "Faster")

If it runs fine, but if you still think the FPS is still low, you can then change Video to 60fps. And then in Advanced settings, you can check "Allow 61-120 FPS entry in video settings".

I meant what settings you initially start it out with. But yeah start with the following things I listed. Give me a video of how your stream look as well if you can.

Change the preset back to veryfast. it's also not recommended to watch/play your own stream while streaming from the same machine, only check out the vods later to see how it went.

The medium preset is almost certainly the problem. You need an extraordinarily fast computer to run the medium preset...like, *really* fast. Do what hilalpro says and change the preset back to veryfast.

Well, it helped, guess I have to see my self pleased with this quality setting until i get a bit faster upspeed. Would 60/10mb be able to support 1080p 60fps?

There's no need to stream 1080p at 60fps i think. try the the latest test build viewtopic.php?f=5&t=68
downscaling to 720p should still look really great using the new filters that comes with it.
