Question / Help Stream Restarting Randomly?

I've noticed that sometimes my stream restarts or reconnects randomly. Sometimes after 4-5mins or sometimes after 30mins. Why is this? Any idea?

It could be that your bitrate is too high for your upload speed to handle. It also could be that the server you're streaming to could be having problems trying to get your stream causing the server to time out and causing you to disconnect.

I'm having this issue as well. I sent an email in to twitch. It's not OBS because both xsplit and FFsplit have this problem as well. Really getting to be a pain, cause even if i'm just streaming my desktop it attempts to reconnect, so it's not some sort of compatibility issue with a program. I've also tried a good amount of their ingestion servers, but none seem to work. Short of my ISP deciding to throttle me and it taking place overnight (Which I guess is feasible), the problem seems to be with twitch.

Try using hashd.tv just to test if it works.

I tried it for about an hour and a half with no frames dropped, and no reset. Twitch however is still disconnecting me every 5-10 minutes. I'm pretty sure it's on twitch at this point, it seems like this isn't unique to just OBS users either, people using xsplit are complaining on the twitch support forums (with no response, I might add).

What's your ISP if I may ask?

That's what I thought. There have been issues in the past with comcast shaping upstream traffic to twitch. Call them and see if they can help you out. It's worked for me in the past for about a week (except this time where it's been since the new year) before it starts doing this again. Was hoping this time was just a fluke. Guess not.

Also, don't expect them to actually do anything. If you want to stream, chances are you'll have to use another service or switch ISPs entirely.
