I've read a number of threads on streaming just 1 monitor of a 3 monitor setup, but have yet found a solution to what I'm trying to do. I'm sure someone else is doing this too, so I don't think this is a unique problem. I hope I can articulate the issue clearly, because there are multiple aspects to it.
I have 3 screens, and they are configured via Nvidia surround. They appear as 1 large screen. This works fine
-When I stream Iracing, as long as I choose the game window, I can select only the center of the screen to steam. Works great.
Where the issue comes up is in trying to display a helper app and have it display transparently as it does on my screen. In order to let OBS see that widget window, I have to grab the URL from a browser, and when I do that it does not display transparently.
It was suggested to me to use display capture. When I do that , the helper app is transparent as it should be. This works because display capture mirrors what I see to OBS. Problem is I can't seem to specify the "center" screen, since it is (because of Nvidia surround) effectively 1 screen. So I'm streaming the entimre 5760*1080 screen. I don't want to do that.
Hoping someone can make sense of what I'm trying to do.
