Question / Help Stream music, mute Skype, Audio help

I have a pretty interesting problem.

I stream a live show and what I usually do is call my co-caster via Skype and then talk a bit about the show before we actually start.

Now at some point I put up the stream, but I mute my microphone and the speakers.

The thing is - I want to play music for the viewers who are waiting for the show, but if I play music and enable the speakers, they will also be able to hear my co-caster talking to me via Skype (they won't hear me speaking cause I muted the mic in OBS).

Is there a way to only pass what's coming from the speakers (the music) but not from Skype? A way to decide exactly what audio gets out to OBS and what doesn't?

I want to play music to the stream, and have viewers hear only that, while I'm also talking to my co-caster on Skype at the same time.

Possible? Ideas?

Currently, the way it's designed is it gets audio from two places, the mic and the desktop. Getting sounds from specific applications only is something that I would like to do but is pretty difficult in practice. Some people use virtual audio cables, but virtual audio cables seems to be a bit buggy unfortunately with some of the output data. I'll have to download VAC and see if I can make some sort of workaround specifically for it to get it to work properly.

I do want to try to make it so certain applications can play audio directly to the stream, though. It's something I'm going to attempt to do in the future.
