Hey I have some problems with this program, recently changed from xsplit to OBS and I love OBS it seems to be a smoother stream overall for me and for the viewers they dont have any lag or w/e it just seem great, which is why its weird that when I play WoW and stream (only other programs on is skype & youtube) it has now 3 times frozen completely, I've tried waiting it out and it dont help, cant alt f4 or anything only thing that I can do is close my computer by the button. I hope I got the code paste downbelow right, not sure what can be causing this problem? Wrong settings? But I havent changed anything to higher than when I had xsplit or than whats recommended in ur guides. I did actually drop frames before the "freeze" but dont think I did last times it happend. It just completely freezes and get some noise also RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Thankful for response and hope I made some sense.

Really? Is that 100% the reason why it would crash? I didn't have this problem before with xsplit which seems to be much heavier even.

yes if there is a crash what does it say ?. 2 gb is nowhere near fine for what you're trying to do. your pc spend too much time and freezes because of disk thrashing.

about the noise "RRRRRRR" do you hear that from audio speakers or from inside the case ?

The noise comes from my headset, its not really a "crash"? I guess, its mostly just freezes up completely so I can't do jackshit and have to close my computer by the button.

So I thought I'd try stream again but privately just to try to see what happens, I got a bluescreen this time and I opened my minidump file and I got "Probably caused by : ntkrnlpa.exe ( nt+409c9 )". http://pastebin.com/JhSZQe5G is my OBS latest log also. Very happy for help as I'm eager to start streaming again!

Only things running at the kernel level can really cause crashes and computer freezes directly. User level applications (such as OBS) are typically only a trigger for this, not the actual cause. OBS however does tend to use many devices, sound devices, video capture devices, the GPU, so if any app is likely to expose any underlying system problems one might be having it would be an application like OBS.

What I'm saying is this very unlikely to be OBS' fault, but something else going on with your system that is merely triggered by OBS.

Fair enough, thanks for the responses. May I ask what I could do to check what's wrong with my computer? If you have any easy answeres would be helpful so I can try to fix it and/or replace if some part is bad.

yeah obs can't really be the true cause of a bsod.. the application doesn't even install like an external virtual device or something that can potentially cause this.

click on start and type msinfo32
run that tool and post a screenshot of the that tool's home screen.

Just came to think of it not sure if it can affect in anyway but, I did recently put in another harddrive in my computer and whenever I went in on it "browsing it" or w/e u wanna call it, it took a sec to get in there, abit of freezing if u will. Not sure if it could affect the rest of the computer (it's not containing anything else than movies atm).

hmm. you're using alot of memory. try this. install a program called (IObit Game Booster 3.4) and tell it to close everything that you're running.

run only obs and the game after see if it still freeze's.

Downloaded the program and streamed while I leveled for almost 2 hours without crashing, while playing some music on youtube and speaking abit on skype, so I'm gonna assume its fine when I use this program, so I'll simply just always have this program on whenever I'll stream, (should I have it when I dont also maybe just to have a smoother PC?). Thanks a bunch for all the help and if I come to more problems you'll hear from me, really glad for the support.

glad that it worked. that program also shutdown unnecessary windows services. you might run into problems later if you try to install something or some drivers might not work correctly if something tries to use those. so you should probably just turn it off when you're not gaming.
