Question / Help Stream lags internet and drops

So last night I streamed for a few hours without any issues at all, like 0.84 dropped frames. This morning I try and stream and get huge lag spikes in game and stream drops tons of frames. I contacted my ISP but they said signals are great and no issues on their end. They think it could be my modem when I try and stream not being able to handle high upload rate and dl rate. I still think it's my ISP's fault but if it could be my modem I want to replace it asap and fix this problem.

Appears not to be a full logfile (missing the Profiler info at the end); might also want to stick that in 'code' tags to keep the post from sprawling, just as a heads-up. :)

Run a 6MB test from http://testmy.net/upload and post your results. Speedtest (and ISP's rated speeds) are for dead-file transfers; the speed can go well below and spike well above your 'rated' speed, so long as it averages out over the entire file transfer.
Livestreaming and game network communications, on the other hand, require a constant throughput... which is normally significantly lower than your ISP's rated speed. That Testmy link will tell you what you're working with.

Also, network congestion/routing may shift with the time of day, neighbors' net usage (in the case of a local concentrator/DSLAM), other activity on the network (if you have others in your house, or an unsecured/insecure wireless access point), or if you're broadcasting via WiFi (*never* do this!) the bandwidth utilization of ANY other APs in the area on the same or overlapping channels.

But yeah, looks like something's gone funky about your network. If you're running right at your max bitrate, drop by 100kbps at a time until the dropped packets stop; you may have to run at a lower rate to leave more of a margin for network fluctuation, if your constant throughput varies over the course of a day. Again, dead-file transfer rates may be fine... but your ISP may be using a 'burst mode' to help mitigate throughput for residential users.

I just wish I could narrow down the problem. I just streamed for 2 hours straight with no issues at all, no lag in game no huge spikes no disconnects. I did the test and i'm at 4.8 mb upload. I do not use WiFi and am completely wired with a router and my modem.

It's definitely a network problem, as it's Dropped frames. Anything local to your computer would much more likely (if not definitely) just result in Lagged frames instead. Have you tried switching to a different Twitch server in your settings? Could just be a rough link somewhere between you and the one you're currently using. I sometimes need to swap from the Dallas server to the LA one; if there's a routing issue at the heart of the problem, even a more distant server can provide better results, if it avoids going through the problematic network path leg.

I have switched when I get massive spikes in lag in game and in stream and it sometimes helps a bit. The problem is I even lag out in game and obviously the stream does too at that point. The problem is even when i'm not streaming i've had these massive lag spikes where I even DC. I get this error in my modem when I get these lag spikes

Yeah, that's your ISP's fault. If you're on a cable modem, your local concentrator isn't sending a ranging lock-test signal and the line quality has degraded to the point where it needs to re-range.

If you have ANY splitters on your cable modem line, take 'em off. They may be low-quality if you have any; I had a 90-degree elbow to fix a tight-quarters turn that was screwing mine up and dropping my signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) to dismal levels... would have probably been fine for cable TV, but the modem is a LOT more sensitive. Had to go through 3-4 elbows before I found one that was put together well enough to deliver a clean signal. Was terrible, as it led to an *intermittent* problem, so it'd work, then just drop out of nowhere... got up to 10-20 times a day before I finally got ticked enough to track down the problem. Can also have the same happen with the cable itself (but less likely unless it was terminated poorly).

May have to request escalation to the next tier of support a few times, and if you have access to the SNR/lock status page, look up what 'good' rates are and note that they're really low. Once you get someone who knows what they're talking about instead of reading a bulleted list off a script, they should be able to work with you and figure out if the problem is with the local concentrator to their back-end network, the line between your house and the concentrator, your house's wiring (need a technician call for that probably), or the cable between the wall and modem (tech can check this while (s)he is out there too).

They keep pretending it's my modem and not on their end... the usual "Signals look fine" talk is all I get. Then they send a tech out who has no training at all to tell me the exact same thing. I'm not sure how I can get them to finally locate and fix the issue. I only have one splitter outside which connects my cable and internet I think. It's like 5 feet from my modem and the line then runs directly through the wall into my modem. I don't know how to get them to actually find the issue and fix it.

Well, can you access the signal page? Ask for a tech escalation, correlate drop-outs and crap-outs to logfile stamps with times (to make SURE it's the modem before making an accusation) and if there is one, show it to their tech that the modem is having a problem talking to their network.

What you can do on your end in the interim is swap out the splitter for another one... might have gotten a crap one. Buy a decent one, try a few (exchange them at the hardware store), and if you find a good one, problem solved. If not, call and call and call and request escalation. If they decline, request a supervisor and explain that this has been going on for a long time, and is unacceptable, and that you need to talk to a qualified technician instead of a tier 1 script-monkey. Have your records of the correlation between drops and modem log entries on-hand to explain that every time it happens, X error message is there from the modem, so there's a problem somewhere and it isn't on your end.

I can access the page and all signals appear in range. Thanks a ton of the replies, they want me to run a tracert to google.com when the problem arises to help identify it but I honestly think they're trying to just point something out that's not in their hands so they can get out of fixing the issue.
