Question / Help stream lags help please :)

So I will start off with posting a few things about what im using to stream:

i7 5820K 3.30Ghz CPU, 6 Cores/12 Threads
8GB DDR4 2133Mhz ram
7950 something(been ages since I've actually checked out my card, but soon to be a 970)
150MB Down, 15MB Up

I started streaming today out of all days and on my stream it either doesnt load the video or it does but its really laggy and randomly pixelates, I have these settings and pc usage when streaming BF4:

CPU 70%-90%
RAM 60%-70%
All temps are below 60-70C so its definately not a heat issue(not like that would ever cause it)
In-game I usually get around 50-60FPS with streaming.

Encoding: CBR, CBR Padding, Max Bitrate: 3500
Video: Resolution downscale: 1.50 (1280x720), Filter: Bilinear (fastest), FPS: 60 also tried 30 but same result.
Advanced: Process priority tried it on normal & high same results, x264 CPU Preset: Tried it on slower & medium same, Encoding Profile: tried it on both but same result.

If anyone has any ideas that would be greatly appreciated!

This is the log, also I get no skipped/missed frames.

EDIT: put 2 in on accident just use whichever they are both the same.

Stream lags? You have 0 dropped frames, your connection is 100% perfect. It's Twitch again. Twitch sucks, we all know that.

for buffering problems and whatnot

https://obsproject.com/forum/thread...oads-constantly-for-my-viewers-but-why.18465/

make sure to post a vod if possible

22:08:25: Video Encoding: x264
22:08:25: fps: 30
22:08:25: width: 1280, height: 720
22:08:25: preset: slower

22:32:55: Video Encoding: x264
22:32:55: fps: 40
22:32:55: width: 1280, height: 720
22:32:55: preset: slow

is WITH GURANTEE not going to work on this system... you would need by far way more cpu and threads to encode slow + gaming on the same machine

Did that the day I had the problems... they offer no real help for me I even tried putting it to fastest setting and everything but still same problem, my stream is usually crystal clear but it just pixelates etc. like crazy.
it doesnt say anything real about "fastest" settings its more about using a lower bitrate

What can we do?
There is unfortunately no perfect cure for this. Let me make it clear once more: Unless you drop frames, the stream you send out arrived at the server of your provider. From this point it is between the provider and your viewers.

But we have a few options we can try:
  • Lower your bitrate (and if necessary resolution/framerate)
  • Try different servers of the same Provider (will probably not help)
  • Try a different Provider (might have a better balancing)
  • Accept that some viewers can encounter problems
  • Lower your bitrate (and if necessary resolution/framerate)

a bitrate of 1k is lower lol im not going lower then that for 720P streaming its not like my connection cant handle it either I've tried everything on that list....

it is hard to understand if you only post "have tried that, doesnt work" when you cant provide a new log for each new test you have done and usually you would stream for at least 30 minutes in those tests

720p30 1500bitrate on fast preset cfr/cbr checked

everything default

if you tested this go through all the ingest servers and see if that changes also you have to test during different times

you wonder why? well to be quite honest twitch doesnt care you generate no income for them you are actually using an "free" option to show your stream to the public so they wont give you any real option about quality options or the option on which server your viewers get routed through all they give you is the option to use "technically" the same ingest servers as everyone else can chose

also this kind of testing isnt done in a few minutes or even hours... it takes days

I don't use twitch, not anymore anyway and I have tried reinstalling OBS, trying 32+64bit versions and quite regulary I see it maxing out my i7 5820k cpu which I dont see how tbh.

i already told you way your cpu is maxing out, read the answers or ignore it

running 720p on slow maxes out all desktop cpus even though the haswell e cpus are freaking beastmode yet the slow preset shredds cpus apart

I have tried the answers as I have stated god knows how many times, I have a 6Core/12Thread CPU I should be able to stream just fine at 2.5k bitrate on medium heck even slower speeds without maxing out my CPU.

bitrate doesnt do anything

and no it doesnt why should your cpu be capable of doing gaming + streaming 720p60 on slow preset when an 16core cpu (2,xghz) cant really do it

you overestimate your cpu

720p60 on medium might be possible but as already stated its a testing process if you dont care about testing then dont care about suggestions nor answers

I got it working slower, 1080P 60FPS, turned out it was preview that was maxing out my cpu, another member found this out :)

Crystal clear quality no issues what so ever even on 30-40Ping in game on BF4, WoW etc. all work fine :)

How is performance playing bf4 while steaming at 1080p 60fps? Is bf4 staying above 60fps?
