Good Morning! I tried to stream through OBS last night for the first time. It was laggy. I was on Wifi It said the Encoder was overloaded. What settings do I need to change to make the stream run smooth?

my setup isn’t ideal but it’s a start.

Dell Latitude E7250 Laptop
El Gato HD 60 S Cap Card
Logitech c922 Cam
Blue Snowball Mic
Xbox One X
400 Download Speed
200 Upload Speed

Maybe you should read this website... https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/please-post-a-log-with-your-issue-heres-how.23074/

This will let me know what is wrong with your OBS settings. However, from my totally-not-painful-of-10-something-hours-of-testing experience, encoding overloaded means that your CPU or your GPU can't keep up with the demands of the settings of OBS Studio. Since you have, what seems to be like a laptop, and most likely you don't have a graphics card (but I don't know for a fact, again, please https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/please-post-a-log-with-your-issue-heres-how.23074/), so if you Quicksync H.264, use that in place for x264. Turn down the quality preset to speed, if it helps.

If that is not possible, and I understand, because Quicksync is unstable as s#!t, then turn down your x264 settings down to ultrafast. Keep in mind, though, that this is the worst quality you can have possible on OBS Studio, and you may not be happy with the quality.

Here's my recommendation for all of the encoders.

NVENC > x264 (medium) > NVENC (old) > x264 veryfast >AMF > x264 Superfast > Quicksync > x264 Ultrafast > Bandicam > Windows Game Mode (btw the last two are just for lols)

Hope this helps, please give me a log, (also please don't cut a tree down and mail it too me, read this on how to post log, https://obsproject.com/forum/threads/please-post-a-log-with-your-issue-heres-how.23074/)
