Question / Help Stream lag, I don't know what's wrong with my settings. Please help.

So I've been trying to get into streaming, especially now that I've built my new rig. I mostly want to stream League of Legends, and every time I do it starts out like it is doing alright, but after about 10 minutes or so it will lag out for about 5 seconds every 20 seconds or so. I thought I had my settings optimized but I don't know what to do. I'll post a picture of my speedtest, and give you the rest of the info.

My maxbitrate is 3500kbs with a buffer size of 3500kbs.
Encoder is x264
I have no resolution downscale (default is 1920x1080)
and running at 60FPS.
I'm also streaming to to Twitch server that has the least amount of ping for me.

I'm not sure what to do. Maybe someone with more intelligence on the matter could help me?
Thanks everyone for your time!

Most likely this is buffering, given that you are running at 3500kbps. Non-partnered streams are advised not to exceed 2000kbps to minimize viewer buffering; a 720p@30fps x264 Veryfast stream fits into a 2000kbps bitrate budget quite nicely. 3500kbps will send a majority of Twitch viewers straight into constant buffering hell.

1080p@60fps is NOT going to fly, even at 3500 though. Not anywhere near enough bitrate (barely enough for 1080@30). Few CPUs can run 1080@60 anyway, without major issues.

Also, don't watch your stream from the same system you're streaming from; use a smartphone or laptop instead. The Twitch player is kind of heavy, and it can easily run into conflicts and other nastiness while the system is trying to handle the huge task of real-time video encoding.

@FerretBomb Dude, I think that solved it. Thank you so much! I guess that makes sense to me now that I was pushing to high, it was just what the OBS estimated me as. I do notice the preview screen on my OBS starts to lag, but watching the stream on my tablet I didn't see any so I guess it doesn't matter. But again dude, thanks a ton. I was pretty discouraged thinking I didn't have good enough internet to stream, and you have brightened my day good sir. If you have a stream yourself I'd love to check it out and follow you, also recommend it to people who may view mine! Thanks!

Yeah, bitrate is one of the things that people just see the maximum number, which is just what the ingests are rated to handle smoothly... but that people may not have a strong enough connection to the Twitch video servers to actually *watch* smoothly in real-time.
The preview window will lag for me too, inexplicably. But the stream seems to come through fine, so I'm not sure why.

In any case, cheers brother! Happy to help. :) And yep, stream link's in my sig if you want to drop by some time and hang out.

Schedule's in the info-chip section on the Twitch page. :)
Normally 0600-1300 GMT, but for now it's 1000-1500 GMT due to a day job "temporary" shift.
