I've been messing with my stream for a few hours. I've tried changing various settings thoughout OBS. I can't seem to get my stream to not be so blurry.
Setup:
i7-4770k
R9 280x
16GB RAM
x64-bit Windows
OBS v0.651 64bit
50mbps down / 10mbps up
I've tried various settings with 1080p and 720p 30fps and 60fp each with 2000kb/s and 3500kb/s.
I spent my afternoon trying different combinations of all these settings.
No matter what, the stream just looks really blurry in game.
Here are things I tried, restarting my stream between each change.
Encoding:
I've toggled Use CBR on and off.
Toggled Enable CBR padding.
Tried all Quality Balance 0-10.
Video:
I tried from No Downscale to 1.50 1280x720.
Also tried all 3 filter settings (Bilinear, BiCubic, Lanczos)
Advanced:
All settings under x264CPU preset
Tried Main and High in Encoding Profile.
Keyframe is set to 2
Toggled Use CFR but I think this is only useful for users who record to hard drive and edit the file.
I'm starting to think that Twitch gives different quality for streamers based on the age or activity of a stream.
I think that because I just made this stream account within the last 1.5 weeks, I am getting a low amount of bandwidth (maybe 1000-1500kb/s max) This is just a guess though. Not really based on anything.
If you guys have advice, I'd really appreciate it.
Here's a 720p30fps (Lanczos) video at 2000kb/s on CBR with CBR padding. Does this look normal with these settings? Am I looking too hard for imperfections?

You really notice it when going from a light envrionment to a dark one.
