Stream audio/video and record to a separate audio file

New Member
Currently I am Streaming with OBS / Vimeo and recording just the audio on a separate PC. I'd like to retire the 2nd PC and just hit record - recording the audio to an MP3 file. Is this do-able?
 
On the recording tab, change the Type to Custom Output, select mp3 for Container, Video Encoder: Disable Encoder.
If that doesn't work, then try matroska Audio as the container, libmp3lame as the audio encoder, then remux to MP3 with VLC.
 
You can also use the AudioWriter or SourceRecord Filter plugins, if you still want to record the whole stream too and not just the audio. The above solution will disallow recording the videostream.
