Hello OBS Community,
This is my first time posting but I have browsed these threads before to solutions to problems, and I typically find them! This time, I have a few extra questions and need a little extra help.
My problem comes from a mysteriously large number of frame drops that I'm now getting (up to 25%) as well as a very jittery stream preview screen in OBS. Why its so strange: I do not believe that any of my settings have changed and my hardware has definitely not changed. My question is a bit two-fold. Why is this happening? also: Have I even been using the optimal settings?
I have been using the auto-setup that OBS has recommended me to use. Which is a 1080p Canvas with a 720p broadcast. Hardware encoding. A 6000 bitrate. 160 Audio bitrate. with 60 as the preferred fps It is with those settings that I am now getting the 25% dropped frames all of the sudden. Keep in mind, this ran pretty damn good for a 2 months or so.

The first recommendation I found online was to change the server (no positive result or a worse result) and the second was to lower the bitrate. Upon lowering the bitrate to 5500 these were the results:

Yes, its much better in terms of the number of dropped frames. But did I sacrifice much by lowering the bitrate to 5500? I feel like I'm only catering to the problem and not actually fixing the problem. Which makes me feel like I lost :/.
Secondary to all of this, I am noticing that the preview screen within OBS is pretty darn choppy.
ANNNND Lastly: Maybe the settings that OBS recommended aren't at all what I should be using? Maybe I should go 1080p Canvas with 1080p output but down to 30fps? Maybe Hardware encoding isn't at all what I should have selected? I don't know anymore guys! I thought I had it all figured it! Thanks for reading, and I hope I can find someone with some input out there!
