Strange black borders

For some reason, my uploaded stream on YouTube is getting black borders around it, but everything is set to 1280x720, so there shouldn't be any scaling going on. Using the record option in OBS results in a normal video, no black bars. I would guess that means the problem is somewhere in the encoding OBS is doing, or some setting on YouTube, but I can't figure out what or where.

Using OBS 27.2.4, as the stream hosting computer is on Windows 7

Canvas is fully filled in OBS, but the result video on YouTube has a black border around it.

Edit: Oh, and for some reason YouTube is always complaining my audio bitrate is 0. Can't figure that one out either.

Yep, it's the same, has the black border all the way around. The channel is here if anyone wants to look at it. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFrwDsnyEti6N4RXHYul3FQ

I do notice that upon loading the page, the player starts out wide, then shrinks to what seems to be a 4:3 configuration for some reason, leaving just the top and bottom borders. But when viewed fullscreen, all the black borders are there.

It seems that Youtube is detecting the video as 4:3 when it's actually 16:9, but I have no idea why.

Base resolution is your monitor resolution.
Output resolution is the one you want to stream/record.
fps must be 30 or 60.

Please use the Auto-configuration Wizard (tools menu) and apply the settings it gives you. Restart OBS and test.

Base resolution is only the monitor resolution if you're recording the screen, right? Otherwise I wouldn't think it should matter, as long as it's in 16:9 format.

Either way, I set it to my monitor's resolution, which was 1680X1050 - to no effect.

Ran the configuration wizard and restarted OBS, didn't seem to change anything from what I had, except to put it back on NVidia hardware encoding, which made no difference either way when I was playing with it.

I also changed the monitor resolution to 1600X900, also no change.

It seems that whatever problem this is, is a completely odd one.

Just wanted to post back and say that our internet went down here today, so the stream went offline. While it was down, I completely uninstalled and reinstalled OBS, getting rid of all the user data too. Now it is fixed and fullscreen again like it should be. Still no idea what was causing it.

Thanks for the help anyway, appreciate it.
