Question / Help Still rendering lags although using capture card now

Hey,

I always had rendering lags using game capture.

So i decided to completely switch to capture card now (used it only for consoles before)

Using Avermedia Game Capture 60FPS

I still have few rendering lags.
what may they cause?

the attached log is from a HL2 Mod - playing on GTX 1080 - so the card does not run on 100%
also used vsync ingame.

any ideas?

The AVerMedia GC550 is a USB device, and so is your webcam which is running at 1080p.

Lower the resolution of your web cam to something like 540p (unless you're one of those cam girls, then lower the resolution of your Avermedia to 540p, lol). Try to make sure that the Avermedia and the webcam are running on different root hubs. They're probably competing for limited USB bandwidth.

That said, this isn't bad at all. Is this what you meant when you said there's still a few rendering lags? Most people posting on these forums would love to have it this low. Is it noticeable when viewing the recording?

Final thought: If you're gaming on the same PC you're using your capture card on, you should just use game capture instead. Video capture devices are for capturing consoles, a separate PC, or a game which uses an ancient version of DirectX (or worse) that can't be captured any other way.

hey thanks,
i switched to capture card because i thought game capture is causing the lags.

both devices are running on usb3 so the bandwith should be enough (usb3 = 600MB/s)
webcam is only usb2

also capture card works better with some mods, because game capture does not work properly then.
in fact capture card is always working :)

i had a stream yesterday and recorded also.

now i have around 5% lags

okay tried game capture as well and it makes no difference.
ingame is smooth and preview always starts to lag if the scene has much details in it (grass, trees etc.)

heres a log from PUBG
So its not the capture card.
