Question / Help Still getting black screen

Hello! I am trying to record some games, but some of them I cant.

First, I am recording from a laptop, and I do have an integrated graphics cards and a nvidia one, howerever, i set it to use nvidia.

The log, anyway, says that the Intel card is being used to record(it seems so, maybe im wrong)

What should I do?

I also set up QSVHelper.exe to use the Intel card, like its said in other thread in the forum.
I get sound, but not video.
Weird thing is that I can record some games that I suppose must be using the NVidia card(NFS:Most Wanted, the newest one) without problem. But I cant record games like Skyrim, Portal or any of the HL2 derivatives...

Thanks

If it's a black screen, then that means adapter mismatch, always.

If you don't mind sacrificing QSV and using x264, then the easy way this is to go to your nvidia control panel -> 3D settings on the left -> global tab on the right -> select the nvidia in the drop down -> click apply/OK -> restart OBS and the game.

Thanks, but still does not seem to work :(

I can record the game if i choose Desktop recording and the game is windowed, but the moment i go full screen neither game capture or desktop capture seems to work.

The nvidia tray thingy shows both obs and the games are using the nvidia card.

NFS still works flawlessly. I can record Bioshock: Infinite if i get out of the game and choose it as the source, same with Garry's mod. The hotkey to select a source does not seem to work.
Other games still give a black screen...

WEll! Now I can record more games(all of the ones I have tried), but not skyrim...
If i go with my method of running the game and then ALt-tab it to OBS and chose it as a source, the screen goes black and I need to ctrl+alt+del.... hmmm

After fiddling around with the settings and your recommendations I seem able to record all my games but not Skyrim.
When I try to record it, it takes me out of it and cant get back.
The sound is still on, so the game must be still running...
It gives me this error:
"The procedure entry point CreateDXGIFactory2 could not be located in the dynaimc link library C:\\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\d3d11.dll"

But I checked and and i do have that dll file.
Here is the log:

Are you using anything like DSFix for Skyrim or have mods installed? They can sometimes break things which means, bad compatibility ;(

I dont have DSFix but i do have mods. Most of them are gameplay related and some are HD textures...
Before, I was able to record it using bandicam but now i get the same error from it.

Hmm I dont know how easy it is to install and delete mods, but you could try to remove them one after the other and each time check if OBS can now capture it again. Maybe its just one mod that gives the problems.

If you have ever installed an FXAA post process injector for something like ENB Series or SweetFX, you will need to make sure the proxy d3d9.dll file is removed from your Skyrim directory or it will cause Game Capture to not work. That's the only other thing I can think of as to why Skyrim wouldn't be working.

Aaand it works! Thanks

I did install ENB, but di dnot work because of the dual graphics card issue, so I uninstalled it before trying to record for the first time. And I had some SweetFX folders, but i dont remember ever installing it...
Anyway, i deleted some files and it works no w:)

Hello everyone! I don't know if anyone still checks this thread, but I removed the d3d9.dll, d3d9.fx, and d3d9SFX.dll files from my Skyrim directory, as I had an ENB installed (Sharpshooter's Classic, if it matters). However, when re-attempting to record with OBS, I get the same "procedure entry point" error. I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me out. Thanks!
