Hey all,
I was using Windows 8 previously and I forget which version of OBS (I usually kept up-to-date).
Normally, I used Stereo Mix as my main audio to record from, and then my Mic as normal for my voice.
Now that I'm on Win8.1 and the latest OBS (I tried older versions, but doesn't seem different) -- I can't seem to reproduce this configuration. I'm using the same drivers, and Stereo Mix is available in my Recording tab in Windows. However, I can't select Stereo Mix as my "Desktop Audio" device.
The reason I want to use Stereo Mix, versus the built in Desktop Audio, is I use Autohotkey to lower both my Master Volume and my Stereo Mix volume whenever I press a key (same as my Voice key to Teamspeak, Vent, and OBS).
With just "Desktop Audio" I can't get my own "personal audio ducking" to work via Stream.
On "my" end the system volume is lowered, but via OBS the sound stays 100%. When I used Stereo Mix previously back on Win8, it worked wonderfully. But I don't know if that's the real issue?
For an example of my working audio ducking, see here: http://www.twitch.tv/drumstix42/c/3492149
I don't want to use Stereo Mix as my "mic" and then leave it always open, because then I can't really communicate how I'd like. I know a plugin exists to use specific audio devices, but that means I'd have to do it in every scene? (I have like 30 scenes...)
