Starting the Output failed

I know this question has been asked a few times, I tried finding some answers for it but I have some confusion with it. Every time I attempt to stream or record I get the pop message saying
Starting the output failed. Please check the log for details.
Note: If you are using NVENC or AMD encoders, make sure your video drivers are up to date.

I was looking through the log file, but this isn't my area where I have to much knowledge to know how to fix it, so something could give some advice, I'd appreciate it

The 940mx doesn't support nvenc. Change your encoders in settings - output.
Thank you Harold, I changed the setting from Quicksync H.264 to x264 and it's working now. Though I'm not sure how it happened, I never really mess with my settings in that area
