Question / Help Starting the output failed. Please check the log for details.

I've never used OBS before so I'm trying it out.

It won't start streaming on Twitch and here is the log:

That means that the profile level set for encoding is incorrect for the specified resolution and framerate.

I'm not familiar with the AMF encoder myself, but if you have an option for Profile level, that needs to be set to Auto.

I'm experiencing the very same thing, and like yourself Cole, I'm clueless where to begin to eliminate this error. I'm simply not that computer savy.

The same thing happened to me today and I'm definitely not techy, but I did go into settings (bottom right corner), then Output and changed Encoder to Software (x264) (from Hardware NVENC), and Shazam!! I'm up and running. Thanks to Carlmmii for setting me on that path!!
