Start Streaming button

I hope that my assumption re the streaming to Facebook Live is correct that it would be checkable live (by going to the page and seeing if the stream is live). Anyways, I'm not sure what settings in OBS I need to check/change as the start streaming button seemingly doesn't actually do anything at all even using a Facebook Live stream key. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Did you read the Facebook directions on streaming?
do you understand the difference (and requirements) of FB scheduled vs non-scheduled livestreaming?
Did you configure OBS to match (and not exceed) specs required for Facebook streaming (audio bit rate, video resolution/bitrate, keyframe, etc)?
- and make sure you know what is in, and how to use, facebook.com/live/producer/

There are some nice YouTube tutorials on how to stream to Facebook. for a super simple screen shot type explanation, I'd recommend finding a video targeting church livestreaming (as many of them non-technical)

Short version
- your FB settings for live stream have to be correct
- then you have to set OBS up correctly. What exactly that is depends on your scenario
