Do you see any difference compared to normal Discord recording? A quick search at these forums tells that can be done using a normal Window capture. (For everyone curious what stage channels are: see Discord's feature description.)

With the regular widget it shows the people in the channel and captures sound ... with the stage channels what you see are the people on the stage with sound ability and the rest is audience
OBS Studio has sources rather than widgets. Which one do you consider the regular one?
The Window Capture source does not capture any sound, but that can be accomplished using either an Audio Output Capture source or a Global Audio Device. (And if the cap fits... please familiarize yourself with the software at a basic level, i.e. using the wiki (quickstart and much more), or the Nerd or Die tutorial video series.)

I use the one that downloads from this page https://obsproject.com/... why is there another one?
I have been using OBS for several years so I have the basic idea. I have often gone to the Wiki and find it an exercise in frustration but have gleaned enough at times to get a clue what I need to do and then work it out from there. The widgets that are part oft he Discord StreamKit do a nice clean job for presentation. I hoped someone had or knew of one created for the new Stage channels.
I used the window capture .. it's a bit of a PITA since it shows the whole window and I only want the stage area seen but I used colour source panels to cover what I don't want and put text on so it will be passable.

My question Which one do you consider the regular one? was regarding your use of the term widget, which I understood to be used for sources, or even other parts of the software like scripts or plugins. I'm sorry if this lead to even more confusion :( You are right that the wiki is not the best documentation...
Maybe it would be useful to crop te Window Capture source? Hold down Alt while dragging the red boundary (it'll become green then). See the Sources Guide. Please keep in mind that the aspect ratio can change due to cropping, potentially leading to black side bars (either horizontally or vertically).
