Hello!
I didnt find a thread about this...
Im streaming the Game LoL almost everyday, and i have spotify on the stream so my viewers can see the name of the songs etc im listening too, but yesterday when i started OBS its only a black screen at the software capture of spotify, Ive tried to restart the program, redo the software capture at spotify but it still wont work, is this is a bug or is there something I can do about it?

I actually don't know - do you use webroot secureanywhere? I'm pretty sure that basically prevents programs from capturing webpages, though there should be a warning in OBS for it.

Also, spotify could be using some GL thing, always a possibility. Might have to turn aero off, or try compatibility mode, not sure. I would love to have more info (or.. maybe I should just get spotify myself or something)

Spotify is constantly updating the framework of their software as a result if they update sometime it may not work with obs as easily.

I have run into this problem many times in the past and i have found that the program snip helps a lot you can find it here on the forum at

Snip will always display the artist info in any way you see fit and 95 % of album art

You should :) It is free so worth a try. As for your questions. Nope, I dont have webroot (but spotify isn't like grooveshark, its an app). Spotify is the only program that is black though, so it is definitely Spotify.

I tried all combinations of compatibility mode, aero mode etc but to no avail. The snip thing did work so thanks for explaining that though :)

Specs if it matters:
i7 3770k @ 4.4ghz
EVGA 690GTX
Corsair 16gb ram 1600mhz
Intel 520 256gb SSD
